HYDRATING BOOST SUGAR SCRUB

BENEFITS

The abrasive property and base of this scrub that allows you to exfoliate the surface of your skin. Sugar has it’s benefits to the skin such as:

  • Natural humectant (retains moisture)
  • Washes away with water
  • Brighten and rids dull skin

Agave nectar can be found in just about an grocer or liquor store. Lavender honey or regular honey will work as well. Agave nectar has unbelievable anti-aging properties and benefits:

  • Reduces wrinkles and builds elasticity
  • Calms irritated skin
  • Hydrolowonic Acid
  • Natural surfactants
  • Vitamins B1, B2, C, D, K, and A.
  • Rids dead skin cells
  • Natural levels of citric acid
  • Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA)
  • Antioxidant
  • Vitamin C
  • Evens out skin tone
  • Treats acne
  • Allevaiate skin patches (dandruff & psoriasis)

Be careful because coconut oil has the ability to clog pores if using too much. Besides aloe, this is my favorite ingredient to the scrub. If your coconut oil is in a semi-solid, microwave to liquid form.

Rosewater has a ton of skin benefits and can be extracted from dry or fresh petals. Bring a saucepan of water with petals to a boil until the petal loses its color. The benefits of rose water include:

  • Moisturizes
  • Brings back lip color
  • Plumps skin
  • Maintains elasticity
  • Removes oil & dirt from skin

THIS is my *ish. My hair and skin loves it! Aloe Vera Gel can be purchase in a squeeze bottle or in leaf form. There are many great properties to this plant such as:

  • Highly anti-inflammatory
  • Alkalin properties to balance body’s PH
  • Seals in moisture*
  • Heals skin from cold sores, burns, cuts, eczema
  • Vitamin A and C

Oh how I adorn extra virgin olive oil. The thickest agent in this scrub, olive oil should go in second after sugar because of its density. Here are the amazing benefits to this wounderous oil:

  • Reverse sun damage
  • Reverses aging process
  • Removes bacteria from skin
  • Helps conditions such as eczema and psoriasis
  • Hydrating
  • Natural inflammatory (wound care)
  • Vitamin A, D, E, and K

Essential oils are optional but can add to the scent of the scrub if it is overpowered by coconut as is. I choose to use hither lemongrass and basil:

  • Antioxidants
  • Rids skin of environmental stressors
  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines

TIME TO SCRUB!

  1. Began with clean hands & skin
  2. While using mild pressure, rub sugar scrub in circular motion on skin.
  3. For a bonus, let the scrub sit on your hands fir 10 minutes while wearing gloves to lock in moisture.
  4. Rinse.

* For kissable lips, dip a clean soft toothbrush into the scrub and gently brush onto your lips in one direction (similar to a filing motion). Then wipe away with a warm wash cloth.

* For even better results, gently scrub onto body with a dry brush tool during your shower once a week. Be mindful of the oil as it pertains to the bottom if the shower, plumping and safety. Always use a shower mat and thoroughly rinse your shower’s floor when finished.
